We are totally committed to the Bible. Our desire is to be led by the Word of God in our worship, our conduct, our thinking, and in our care for the church and the community. That is why our mission is to make and equip disciples who seek God’s Word, heed God’s Word, and send God’s Word. We desire to seek God’s Word as we hear it preached from week to week. We desire to be and make disciples who seek the truth in the pages of Scripture in the privacy of their lives as well. We are committed to not be hearers only, but doers of the Word. Our desire to heed God’s Word is our motivation to obedience. We believe the Bible is sufficient for all of life and godliness. Therefore, we believe that the Bible is authoritative and should be obeyed. As we seek and obey, our call to action is to send forth God’s Word in worship and evangelism. As we fulfill this mission, we pray that believers would be built up and grounded in truth and that the lost would be gloriously saved by the gift of salvation that comes through our only Savior and Lord—Jesus Christ. We aim to demonstrate this commitment through expository Bible teaching, focused evangelism, deliberate discipleship, corporate worship, and committed prayer.
While New Liberty Baptist Church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and holds the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as its statement of faith, our primary commitment is to the Word and to the gospel proclaimed in its pages.
What is the gospel? Simply put, God created all that is, man creature, nature, and all contained in the universe. Man sinned against God and brought brokenness and ruin. God’s design has been corrupted by man’s sin. Each person is dead in their sin and shares one chief need—to have their sin forgiven and their relationship with their creator restored. Jesus is the Son of God who stepped down from heaven to accomplish our needed forgiveness. He did so by living a perfect life while on earth and then going to the cross to die in our place. He was dead three days and God raised Him from the dead. In His death and resurrection, Jesus offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who believe in Him.
